September 16th and we had our first city inspection this morning. The inspection was for the footings, foundation, rebar, moment frame and cellar. The footings are 18in deep and 3' wide. For the tall wall that will essentially be three stories with the cellar, the footings have an extra keyway footing of 12" depth. The rebar is number 5s on the tall wall every 18" and number 4s on the bottom and stem walls. The inspection went great, our concrete guy Ron is managing the job extremely well. Next is the block being delivered, foundations poured and walls built. We hope by the end of next week the cellar walls will be finished and we can begin backfilling and foundation work for the main house on the top of the lot.
