The nectar of the gods.
Below are some pics and some links to our wine cellar. The wine cellar consists of two rooms and is located underneath the deck and house. The excavation of the the cellar was around 100 yards of earth, and the cellar is 440 sq. ft. in size. It is one of our favorite places in Herons' House.
In a few months we will construct our trellis system and in February we will plant our vineyard.
Pete Anderson who is a neighbor, is our winemaking coach and in September of this year we will start making wine under his tutelage, from grapes grown in Baja California. The idea is to learn the ropes the next two to three years so that when our vines are producing we will be experienced winemakers.
This year we will attempt to make 100 liters or aprox. 125 bottles of wine. We are going to strive to make the best wine possible, I hope when finished it is at the least, drinkable!
