Settling in,

We have been working on the Egret and on the walls in the back of the lot. The weather is terrible and its a hard slog. We are digging the footings and mother nature is collapsing them with rain and mud, we wait a few days and then muck out the footings.  A part of me things she is getting even with me for some reason or another.

Today we pored the footings for the retaining wall. What a relief, we are beginning to see some collapsing of a part of the hill but nothing to bad, just a few yards of mud from where we made the vertical cut. Ron and the laborers are doing great when they have a clear day to work.

Just about the whole month is shot because of bad weather. Well, outside at least. The good news is that the Egret has no leaks (we are redoing the roof anyway) and we have been quite productive inside the Egret.  It is sooooo nice to get the carpet, drywall, closets and cabinets out of there. All totaled we used two 40 cubic yard roll offs for all the trash. A good estimate between the grubbing of the lot and the redo of the Egret is about 10 tons of debris.  Most one wheelbarrow full at a time.

:) still smiling, Peder
