“Life itself is the most wonderful Fairy Tale.”

Hans Christian Anderson

Boy meets girl, they fall in love, they are separated-then reunited; boy marries girl-he calls her his princess; they build a beautiful castle and they live happily ever after…

In many ways, I feel as if the past two years of my life have been surreal-much like the princess in a fairy tale.  In the past two years, I have rediscovered love, married Mr. Wonderful, and had the opportunity to help build our dream home.  Whew!  As I look back on it all-it’s hard to believe that it has only been two years.  The journey has been amazing and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything.

Peder and I moved into Herons’ House a little over five weeks ago.  Our home is more than I ever imagined it would be.  I begin my day on the upstairs deck, reading the paper and enjoying my coffee, newspaper and the awesome sunrises-it takes everything inside of me to get up and leave for work.  And of course, once I get to work, I can’t stop looking at the clock-wanting the day to be over, so I can return home and enjoy the sunset.  It truly is an enchanting place, and I know that it will just continue to become even more special as we finish the landscaping and the decorating.  We have finished building our house and now we are beginning to embark on the journey of making that house our home.

I just finished going through all of the pictures that Peder has posted to the website and I am amazed at how quickly Herons’ House has come together.  Pictures really do speak a thousand words and capture the story.  However, with that being said, there is always a story behind every picture-and our case is no different.  The story is one filled with passion, commitment and incredible attention to detail.

Peder and I continue to be amazed at the quality of craftsmanship in every aspect of the home.  We believe that those who worked on our home did so with the same level of excellence, if not higher at times, than we had for Herons’ House!  Every trade gave this project their all and offered us wonderful suggestions which all contributed to the beauty of the house.  I will be forever grateful to the many people who had a hand in this adventure-uhm, fairy tale!  Peder and I are extremely blessed in so many ways-we have each other, three great children, supportive and loving families, and so many wonderful friends- we look forward to many special moments being shared with each one of them in our new home…A Fairy Tale indeed…

I believe the master of fairy tales, Hans Christian Anderson, captures my sentiments as I reflect back on these past two years and as I look towards the future…

“Every man’s life is a fairy tale written by God.”

I thank God everyday for my many blessings and the opportunity to live my fairy tale…
