The evaporating SDG&E bill.
The Feb-March usage declined to just over 300kwh that is a 81% reduction from the previous year. We are still in the shorter periods of the year for sunshine so we still have a small bill. Next month our bill will be in the $20 range. Then from April through October as the days get longer, we generate more electricity and use less for lighting, our SDG&E bill will go below the zero line and we will be generating more electricity that we use for those six or seven months.
For six months a year we use a little amount of energy from the grid, and for six months we have excess energy that we put back into the grid as a credit. The program through SDG&E that allows for that to happen is called net metering. At the end of 12 months the goal is to be +- $50 for the entire year.
